Bringing you the best chicken wing reviews in Colorado Springs and beyond. Honest, no-nonsense ratings from real wing lovers, eating real wings at local spots. If we didn’t eat them, we don’t review them.
The Scoring System
Here’s how we rate wings. It’s not overly scientific, but it’s consistent, and it’s based on what actually matters when you're diving into a pile of wings. The fact is, sometimes these reviews represent a single point in time. Your experience may be different at the time of your visit.
Crispiness: Pretty straightforward - the crispier, the better (as long as it doesn’t cross the line into chicken jerky). I always order my wings XTRA XTRA crispy, so this category carries some weight for me.
Meat Quality & Pull: Wings should pull cleanly from the bone. The meat should be tender, not dry or overly fatty (yes, fatty, chewy wings absolutely exist - and they’re a buzzkill).
Sauce or Dry Rub Execution: Did they coat the wings properly? Are the flavors balanced? Is the sauce too sweet, too weak, too watery - or just right? This category looks at both quantity and quality.
Veggies & Blue Cheese/Ranch Quality: I debated including this… but honestly, it matters. A good dressing and fresh veggies are part of the experience - especially when you need something cool after torching your mouth with a spicy wing. Celery, carrots, and the dip can make or break the afterburn.
Value: This one is math-based. We use a formula to rate value from 1 to 10, using $1.00 per wing as best value and $3.00 as the worst. If a restaurant has multiple portion sizes or pricing tiers, we average the high and low. Just remember: value ≠ quality - this is purely about cost, not taste.
X-Factor: This is the wild card. This can sometimes swing a review so it just beats out another, even though the wings may be good at both. Does something about the place stand out? Maybe it’s the sauce variety, the atmosphere, the presentation, the wet wipes on the table - whatever makes it memorable. It’s subjective, and I’m totally okay with that.
Reader Rating: Why shouldn't you get your vote? Go ahead and give your own personal overall rating. You don't have to agree with us. Tell the world what you think! Ok.. but one thing the reader rating is independent of our rating and does not affect the overall score. To give your rating simply click on the Reader Rating review bar where you think the overall rating should be.
What wing restaurants are we missing? Think our review is way off? Think our scoring method sucks? Want to offer a discount to the public for your restaurant? Shoot us a message by using the contact us link at the top of the page. We don't take bribes, gift cards, or anything like that. Just let us know we should come eat some wings and we will see if we can make the trip. If you want to share a discount we love to help people find cheaper wings that are delicious. Reach out!
Also, please don't hesitate to leave a comment. We know "opinions are like ***holes and everyone has one! " BUT we want to make sure all are heard. Leave a comment and let us know what you think about the establishments being reviewed! We will never block or remove anything unless it crosses a line.
Who are we?
Just normal, every day people on a mission to find the best wings.... and maybe warn you about the worst ones.
We started this site because we love wings. Not in a trendy, foodie-blogger way, but in the "I will drive across town for good crispy flats" kind of way. This isn’t a business, we don’t get paid, and we're not backed by any sponsors or restaurants. Every wing we eat is paid for out of our own pocket — and every review reflects what we actually experienced, for better or worse.
We are based in Colorado, so most of the reviews come from around the area. But we travel at times, so you’ll occasionally see posts from other cities when we find something worth writing about.
This site is focused on wings - traditional bone-in, preferably crispy, ideally sauced or seasoned with something bold - but every now and then, we might throw in a review for another place if it really stands out.
No free food. No bias. No fluff. Just honest opinions from someone who’s probably eaten more wings than they should admit.
Thanks for checking out the site - hope it helps you find your next favorite spot (or avoid wasting your money on soggy disappointments).
