I’ve been to Bubba’s plenty of times. Sometimes the wings hit perfectly, sometimes they miss the mark. Luckily, on this visit it felt like they knew I was reviewing, because the wings came out pretty damn good.

Bubba’s offers wings in 6, 12, or 18-piece orders, and you can tack on fries for only $2.49 — a solid deal. Pro tip: get the “fire fries,” which come dusted with their Habanero Chipotle Fire seasoning. Trust me, it’s worth it.

Pricing runs between $1.44 and $1.83 per wing depending on the quantity you order. Not the best value, but right in the middle of the pack.

As always, I went with XTRA XTRA crispy, and that’s exactly how they came out. Perfect crunch. I ordered the Habanero Chipotle Fire seasoning on the wings with Habanero Heat sauce on the side. Both were excellent — crisp, flavorful, and every dip into that sauce paid off.

The meat pulled cleanly from the bone, was tender, and not fatty.

Veggies were solid, though it was celery only this time. Ranch and blue cheese were serviceable, but nothing to brag about.

X-Factor? The sauce variety is decent, and the lively sports-bar vibe with TVs everywhere adds to the atmosphere. It doesn’t elevate the wings into legendary territory, but it does make Bubba’s a fun spot to grab a basket.

Bottom line: When Bubba’s nails it, the wings are absolutely worth it.
